Positive Thinking Trick for the Day

Ever think back to a decision you made a few years ago and wish you could go back in time, slap yourself around and force a different decision? "Don't take this job, you're just doing it because your parents want you to!" "Don't miss the opportunity to move overseas for a year!" "Don't get back together with him, it will only end the same way!"

In one sense, I find it positive that I am continually amazed at how stupid I was five or ten years ago. Why? If I were to look back ten years and think I was absolutely brilliant, that would mean I haven't learned anything in the intervening time. Depressing!

Even though we know it's pointless, sometimes we can't help but look back on some of our decisions and wish we could go back in time to set things right. But on the other hand, you can play this game: imagine it's ten years in the future. What decisions would you wish that that you had made differently ten years ago (today)? What aspects of your day and your life at this moment are really just distracting static that won't matter in ten years? What would you want to go back in time and change?

Poof! It turns out time travel is real. You're here. Now change it!
