"In God We Trust" To Be Re-Affirmed by Congress

Virginia Representative Randy Forbes has introduced HR274 to re-affirm "In God We Trust". Read more here, straight from the horse's mouth so to speak, at the American Family Association's website.

You know all that debating we do in comment sections, reading and writing all those blog posts, thinking of arguments next time you talk to someone? Ever feel like your efforts might be better spent elsewhere? We can do one thing that's a thousand times more effective by making your voice heard if your representative is one of these that's sponsoring it. To put a point on it, all our online debating doesn't amount to much if we can't be bothered to dial a phone when separation of church and state is in danger of being eroded one more step.

Below are the COSPONSORS of the bill, but that doesn't mean that if your own representative isn't on this list, that you still shouldn't call them and tell them not to vote for it. Look up their contact information at the Congress website - they're listed on the bill. If you send an email, make sure you tell them why they should care about you - I always make a point of telling social conservative clowns that I'm a registered Republican, and not even close to the only secular one, so just wait until the next primary...(In point of fact this was part of the reason I re-registered Republican for the first time since the late 90s.)

P.S. Check out Enlighten the Vote (formerly GAMPAC).

That makes a lot more sense to me.
