How Many Years Did We Lose?
How good would computers be today if this guy hadn't committed suicide after being persecuted for his sexuality? (Computer types, you already know who this is.) He also ran a mean marathon - sub 3 hours, by a wide margin, which in the first half of the twentieth century was even more amazing than it is now.

There are still a few questions regarding his "suicide". Although it is the most likely cause of death, i wouldn't rule out British Intelligence wanting him gone.
I don't know what would be worse, someone like this getting intentionally offed or having it happen as a by-product of discrimination.
