India: "Please Pakistan, Can We Be Just Like You?"

That's certainly what it seems like the Indian government is saying, anyway. India lines up behind its long-time role-model Pakistan, punishing people for criticizing religion despite an ostensible constitutional protection of same. Rationalist Sanal Edamaruku had to skip the country after offending the local pearl-clutching grannies by pointing out that a no, statues of gods cannot cry, but plumbing can drip.

Disappointing to see India so closely imitating Pakistan these days. Ooh! Does all this Pakistan talk hurt? Indian government: explain to the world how this is any different.
